The art of making memories in new Inside Out clip
Inside Out, the latest film from animation powerhouseย Disney Pixar, is due in cinemas in a little less than two months. If that wait seems unbearably long, especially after the recent rave reviews from the film’s world premiere atย Cannesย Film Festival, we have a lovely little clip to ease the pain.
Synopsis –ย Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions โ Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Rileyโs mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
In the new clip, Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler) gives us the lowdown on how Riley’s memories are formed.
Up directorย Peteย Docter is also the man behindย Inside Out, which explains whyย more than a few reviews fromย Cannes mentioned how emotional the film is – something we’ve now come to expect from a Pixar production. With a superb cast that reads like a list of who’s who in American comedy, and some strong emotional material,ย Inside Out could be Pixar back on fine form after the relatively weaker offerings ofย Brave, andย Monsters University.
Inside Outย is released in UK cinemas onย 24th July.
