The ‘American Dream’ The last bastion of opportunity and aspirations  but in the new UK trailer for War Dogs, when things go corrupt all things  go south . We don’t have to be American to have the Dream but for Jonah Hill and Miles Teller, the dream of $$$ for gun running greed will only mean the end is nigh! Watch the new trailer….

Next month the long running project for Todd Phillips (The Hangover)will finally arrive in cinemas nationwide, The unbelievable story of a pair of twenty-somethings who land a $300 million deal with the U.S. government.

Based on a true story (Guy Lawson‘s Rolling Stone article) War Dogs follows two friends in their early 20s, David Packouz (Teller) and Efraim Diveroli (Hill). living in Miami during the first Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a 300 million dollar deal to arm the Afghan Military a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.

The question is how did 2 stoner 20 somethings convince  American Government to let them have $300 million arms contract? Don’t expect laugh out crass moments like the Hangover, though this still looks bonkers. It will have the humour  which will be dark but think more dramatic like the springs of the pinball machine with comedic moments bouncing off every dramatic moment.Think The Wolf Of Wall Street meets bromance with a big helping from Lord Of War and Pain&Gain! Sounds fun? Sign me up!

War Dogs is set for an 26th August UK&Irish release (19th August USA). The film also stars Ana de Armas, Shaun Taub and Bradley Cooper who is also one of the producers of the film.
