Superman: Man Of Tomorrow Casts Adria Arjona
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adria Arjona has joined the cast of the Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow after an intense series of auditions.
It is widely believed she will be playing the role of Maxima, an alien warrior queen, although this is not confirmed by DC Studios. This would be the first time that Maxima has been portrayed in a live-action DC film, having previously been portrayed on TV shows Smallville and Supergirl by Charlotte Sullivan and Eve Torres Gracie, respectively. Since her creation in Action Comics #645 in 1990, Maxima has been depicted as an antagonist, ally and would-be love interest to Superman.
She joins the wider returning ensemble cast alongside fellow new cast member Lars Eidinger as Brainiac. Earlier in April, it was rumoured that finalists were testing for the role, including Eva De Dominici, Sydney Chandler and Grace Van Patten.
Other cast members returning include David Corenswet as Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific.
Aaron Pierre, who makes his debut in the series Lanterns later this summer, reprises his role as John Stewart in the film, too.
Man of Tomorrow is the sequel to Superman, which grossed $618.7 million globally last year. DC Studios hasย Supergirl up next in a few months’ time before Clayface releases on October 23rd.
Superman: Man of Tomorrow is set for cinemas on July 9th, 2027.
