Stranger Things: Tales from '85 new trailer

Netflix has renewed the animated spin-off series, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, for a second season following its 23rd April debut.

The show is based on the original smash-hit live-action series by the Duffer brothers, Stranger Things, which debuted in 2016 and ran for five seasons until 2025

The original series took place in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. They focused on the repercussions of a young girl with psychic powers creating a wormhole known as the Upside Down, which unleashes paranormal terror onto the town and a gang of its teenagers.ย  The animated spin-off takes place between the second and third seasons of the live-action, centring on our protagonists attempting to find some normality, but a threat from beneath the ice is lingering.

Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, Luca Diaz, Braxton Quinney, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Elisha Williams, Ben Plessala, Brett Gipson, Jeremy Jordan, Alessandra Antonelli, Odessa Aโ€™zion, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Janeane Garofalo make up the voice cast for the animated ’85 series.

Stranger Things: Tales from ’85ย racked up a total of 2.8 million views within four days of its debut, taking the number. 7 spot on the weekly Netflix Top 10 TV chart. The original series’s debut season gained 14.07ย million adults in its first 35 days, with the second season gaining 15.8 million in its first episode. Season three debuted to 8.86 million, while it took 28 days for the fourth season to gain 1.352 billion hours of viewership time.

The final season broke Netflix records with 59.6 million views in its first five days.
