X-Men: Sophie Thatcher & Charles Melton On Marvel Casting Speculation
Her Private Hell stars Sophie Thatcher and Charles Melton have addressed rumours they are set to appear in the upcoming X-Men film, with their names appearing alongside additional rumoured cast members Adam Driver, Cooper Hoffman, and Bill Skarsgård.
Following news that a new, rebooted X-Men movie is currently in the works over at Marvel, following a previous, successful rendition under 20th Century Fox for 10 films, plus three crossover films with Deadpool, chatter about who will be appearing as this brand new version of the mutant superhero team has been set ablaze online, prompting Thatcher and Melton to set records straight during an interview for their latest sci-fi, AI-based feature by director Nicolas Winding Refn.
“I haven’t heard that,” Thatcher responded when asked about rumours she would be joining Marvel’s take on the X-Men. “I’m open. I’m open to anything. I don’t really know that universe.”
Thatcher emphasised her interest in appearing in such a major, big-budget, studio feature on a hugely popular comic, springing off of previous onscreen appearances such as the Disney+ Star Wars miniseries, The Book of Boba Fett, as well as the horrors The Boogeyman, Companion and Heretic.
“If I connect with the script and if it’s something—because it’s on such a large scale—if it’s a story that can help us and, like, help an audience, inform an audience, if there’s empathy there, then I’m open,” the Yellowjackets star added. “It’s just about, you know, the collaborator and the script.”
She additionally stressed, “I’m not ridding myself of ‘Well, I can’t do commercial. I can’t do this. I can’t do that.’ I’m incredibly open.”

As for Melton, he took the casting rumours with assurance that it “does interest [him] for sure.”
“Oh, yeah. That would be cool,” he replied. “What a dream. What a dream.”
The new X-Men film is set to be directed by Jake Schreier, whom Melton has previously worked with on Netflix’s Beef, and was originally written by The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’s Michael Lesslie, before Beef creator Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo penned a new script.
