DC Unveil Second Trailer for Batman: Knightfall Part 1

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures Animation have treated Batman fans to a second trailer for the upcoming animated film, Batman: Knightfall Part 1, the first installment of the adaptation of the three-part comic story of the same name. The film is directed by Jeff Wamester, who works from a script penned by Jeremy Adams, with Anson Mount voicing the Caped Crusader of Gotham City.

Batman: Knightfall Part 1 sees Bruce Wayne pushed to his mental and physical limits at the hands of Bane, with the super-steroid-enhanced villain injuring the Dark Knight to the point of needing to step back. During his recovery, an apprentice named Jean-Paul Valley takes up the Batman mantle but conducts his crime-fighting dangerously and destructively, threatening the Batman identity and reputation for good.

The original comic was written by Chuck Dixon, Jo Duffy, Alan Grant, Dennis O’Neil, and Doug Moench, and ran from 1993 to 1994 in the instalments Knightfall, Knightquest, and Knightend.

Jeff Wamester’s adaptation saw a 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival premiere on 23rd June and follows a series of standalone animated films, set to kickstart an R-rated trilogy.

Michael Mando, Pablo Schreiber, Jack Griffn and Bruce Boxleitner also lend their voice work for the film.

Batman: Knightfall Part 1 will be released on 25th August.
