Let’s be honest when Sonic was revealed to the world in the first trailer , no one expected Sonic The Hedgehog to be an unexpected hit. Nearly a year on a re-designedย  Sonic, a sequel on the cards Paramount Pictures has revealed the official title and logo.

We can say creative minds certainly never clashed when it came to deciding exactly what to call the sequel. Guess what it’s officially to be called Sonic The Hedgehog 2! Off course we sometimes argue when films try to be creative with film names, this time we have no problems this times.

So when will our favourite little blue hedgehog arrives in cinemas? 2022! That is a lot quicker than we expected and Sonic will bring his flying two-tailed fox friend, Tails.

Here’s the film’s official Title/logo

Paramount have released a 10 second animated logo/title sequence for the film. The music off course will sound very familiar to those who have played the classic Sega game…

The animated title above does say 8th April 2022 the sequel will be in cinemas. In today’s climate nothing is certain and subject to change, plus the title is coming from Paramount’s U.S Youtube Page. So UK and Irish release dates aren’t always the same.

There is no news on which of the first film’s cast may return. Will Ben Schwartz return to voice Sonic and Jim Carreyย  as the franchise villain Dr.Robotnik? What about James Marsden as Tom, along with who will voice Tails?

With Sonic The Hedgehog 2 release date potentially just over a year away, we can expect news on that cast and plot soon.
