Sinners and One Battle After Another win big at the 2026 Actor Awards

Last night, the annual 32nd Actor Awards were held at Los Angeles’s Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall to celebrate the biggest achievements in 2025’s film and TV performances. The ceremony was hosted by House of Lies Star Kristen Bell, who has previously hosted the event in 2018 and 2025. 

With the 98th Academy Awards a mere two weeks away, all eyes were on the film categories to provide more anticipation for the expected recipients of Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and so on.

When it came to film, Ryan Coogler’s genre-bending, history-making Sinners saw endless success at the ceremony. The film, focusing on a band of Missouri civilians banding together for protection from bloodthirsty vampires in a secret juke joint, is one of this year’s fan favourites for the award season, making history as the most Oscar-nominated film of all time with a total of 16 trophies up for grabs. 

Paul Thomas Anderson’s darkly comedic political drama One Battle After Another won awards for its performances, with a cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, and Teyana Taylor. 

Another horror film also broke the mould by scooping up a win.

As for TV, the recently passed, deeply missed screen icon, Catherine O’Hara, received a posthumous Outstanding Performance in a Comedy award for her work on the series The Studio. Additionally, the modern comedy star Seth Rogen won big for both series creation and acting. 

To round things off in a touching eight-minute-long acceptance speech, American film legend Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Blade Runner) was given the Lifetime Achievement Award for a 62-year-long career at the age of 83.
