Sharlto Copely Is A Unabomber In Ted K Trailer

Sharlto Copely has been many things, from fighting for aliens, being an ‘A-team’, a King even a gun runner. In his latest film, Ted K he’s disturbed but most of all wants to change the world.

Ahead of it’s release later this month Super Ltd will release the indie thriller in the U.S and have released a Official Trailer. Tony Stone directs this one, based on Ted Kaczynski (Copely), widely known as the Unabomber, and draws from Kaczynski’s personal diaries and accounts from those who knew him during his life in hiding.

This film looks like a slow burner, as we watch Ted become so angry with modern society living ins seclusion. Watching he plot his ‘vengeance’ and Copely shows he’s a great character actor. The film did premiere at 2021 Berlin Film Festival and our writer Freda Cooper watched, saying it was a ‘hard watch‘. Full review link under the trailer…

Ted K lives a life of almost complete seclusion in a simple wooden cabin in the mountains of Montana. But then this former university professor, who despises modern society and its faith in technology, becomes radicalized. What begins with local acts of sabotage, ends with deadly bomb attacks. To the outside world, Ted K becomes known as the Unabomber.

Based on Ted Kaczynski’s diaries and writings, Tony Stone’s film is a kaleidoscopic true crime journey into the life of one of America’s most complex and eccentric killers. It features a tour-de-force performance from Sharlto Copley who portrays the complexity of this unique outsider, raging at the forces of both the inescapable technological society that plagues him and his own inner demons.

The film also stars Drew Powell, Travis W Bruyer, Amber Rose Mason,  Megan Folsom, Andrew Senn and Wayne Pyle.

There is no news on when Hanway Films will release Ted K in the UK and Ireland. The above Trailer is the American release and that release date will be 18th February with a limited cinematic and Digital release.
