Second Poor Things Trailer Will ‘Play With Your Mind’

When it comes to Yorgos Lanthimos, we know his films aren’t going to be straightforward. The second UK Trailer for the Greek filmmaker’s latest, Poor Things it’s going to be a film that will ‘Play with your mind’.
After a shorter trailer, Searchlight Pictures release the full trailer. That trailer we learn Emma Stone (who also a producer on the film) character Bella Baxter is reborn. The opening scene of the latest promo teases the absurd, mind-bending tone we can expect from the film. We get a glimpse of the twisted humour showcased in various gorgeous cinematography that’s also present in black and white.
It’s simple we have a Frankenstein type story with suggestions Bella will take that step into ‘freedom’ something the creature from the classic film didn’t get. Willem Dafoe is Dr Baxter the scientist who brings Bella back to life, however she wants freedom, that opportunity comes thanks to Duncan (Mark Ruffalo).
After Beau Is Afraid, expect the unexpected and this film may also tiptoe into that territory. Though we may think we know what’s going on, it’s hard to say.

Poor Things will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 8th September. The film also stars Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael and Christopher Abbot.
