Second Downton Abbey: A New Era Trailer Asks You To ‘Sit Down’
With a post title asking you to ‘sit down’ you might wonder if it has anything to do with the well known song from indie pop band James. In the new second UK Trailer for Downton Abbey: A New Era Dame Maggie Smith requests ‘you sit down’ as she now came into possession of a new villa in…South of France!
Since our last Trailer Universal Pictures have also updated the film’s synopsis, that teases the Dame’s character’s new possession. One that comes with a big mystery, did Countess Dowager once have a lover on the side when she was younger? Off course her family are astonished with the news of her new inheritance could there be another logical reason? Several of the family head to the South Of France to find out and enjoy the holiday!
When it comes to another Downton Abbey film, you could say anything. The show is universally loved and the prospect of seeing this show extended over weigh any story.

From award-winning creator Julian Fellowes comes the motion picture event DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA. The much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon reunites the beloved cast as they go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa.
The original cast returning are Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Robert James-Collier, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Maggie Smith, David Haig, Imelda Staunton, Penelope Wilton, and Lesley Nicol. Keeping up with the ‘New Era’ part of this film there will be a number of new faces and they are Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West. Simon Curtis (Goodbye Christopher Robins) directs.
Downton Abbey: A New Era UK and Irish cinema release has now changed from 18th March to 29th April.
