Say Your Prayers And Watch The Vigil UK Trailer
After learning last week Vertigo Film Releasing is to release Supernatural chiller The Vigil, today we get the UK Trailer. The Blumhouse produced horror latest promo ask you to ‘say your prayers’ as a malevolent force conjures terror in a small Orthodox Jewish community.
Keith Thomasย directorial featureย stars Dave Davis as Yakovย who agrees to be an overnight shomer (a Jewish practice in which a person watches over the body of a recently deceased community member). He was once part of the communityย but hasย lost his faith discovers the house in which he’s sitting the vigil hides a dark and terrifying secret.
I have to admit I knew nothing about this film until recently and it’s twisted my curiosities. This looks like one that will play with your mind especially with a lot of audio and visual ticks. Jump scares? I think they’ll be a few!

THE VIGIL is set over the course of a long, dark night in Brooklynโs Hassidic โBoroโ Park neighbourhood, following Yakov (Dave Davis, True Detective), a former Hassid, who has lost his faith, and isnโt eager to go back to the insular religious community he only recently fled. But when Reb Shulem (Menashe Lustig), a rabbi and confidante, approaches Yakov and offers to pay him to be the shomer (watching over the dead body of a community member) for a recently deceased Holocaust survivor, he reluctantly accepts the job. Shortly after arriving at the dilapidated house, Yakov realises that something is very, very wrong. This will not be a quiet vigil.
The film stars Adam Margules, Dave Davis, Menashe Lustig, Malky Goldman, Lynn Cohen, and Fred Melamed.
The Vigil will be released on 31st July 2020 in the UK and Ireland.
