Sandra Bullock & Nicole Kidman Return In Practical Magic 2 Trailer
Warner Bros has released the trailer for Practical Magic 2, the sequel to the original 1998 fantasy film, which was directed by Griffin Dunne, based on Alice Hoffman’s book of the same name.
The sequel is directed by Susanne Bier, from a script by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett, who adapted from the Hoffman sequel novel titled The Book of Magic. Practical Magic 2 will see Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprise their original roles as Sally and Gilly, two witch sisters.
Additional cast members include Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod, Stockard Channing, and Dianne Wiest.
Bier’s film “…returns to a world steeped in moonlit mischief and powerful ancestral magic, as the Owens sisters must confront the dark curse that threatens to unravel their family once and for all in a must-see cinematic event of fun, magic and mayhem.”
Denise DiNovi, Bullock and Kidman share producer credits, with Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Donald Sabourin and Hoffman serving as executive producers.
The original film grossed $68.3 million from its initial $75 million budget and has since gained a cut following who admire its portrayal of bonds between women in a dark, fantasy, whimsical manner.
Hoffman’s book was released in 2021 as a sequel to Practical Magic in 1995. The novel also spawned a television pilot and two prequels, The Rules of Magic and Magic Lessons.
Practical Magic 2 hits theatres on September 11th.
