R.I.P Lost Boys Star Edward Herrmann Dies Aged 71

2015 is knocking on our doors but sadly we’ll start the new year with some sad news that actor Edward Hermann known for his roles in Gilmore Girls and Lost Boys has sadly died aged 71.

Herrmann had been battling brain cancer  for  a long time passing away earlier today surrounded by his family  at a New York hospital.

Edward Herrmann made a career on the big screen as much as the small screen known by cult film fans for his role as lead vampire Max in Joel Schumacher‘s 1987 film The Lost Boys starring next to Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland. Other big screen credits include Macaulay Culkin’s father in the 1994 film Richie Rich, Nelson Rockefeller in Oliver Stone’s Nixon and worked with Martin Scorsese on The Aviator more recently The Wolf Of Wall Street. The Great Gatsby, Reds, The Great Waldo Pepper, Annie and Woody Allen’s Purple Rose Of Cairo.

Herrmann was an all round accomplished actor making as much impact on television starring in St Elsewhere, How I Met Your Mother, Good Wife, Grey’s Anatomy. But it will be his role as Richard Gilmore the father of The Gilmore clan in the popular teen drama The Gilmore Girls, Lauren Graham who played his onscreen daughter tweeted…

Edward Herrmann was born 21st July 1943 a native of Washington D.C a career spanning 40 plus years often playing roles as affluent or privileged personage; usually roles as Judges,lawyers, headmasters, executives, most of all millionaires.
