PVT Chat Interview – Ben Hozie And Peter Vack

After its premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival back in August of 2020, Ben Hozie‘s gritty, guerrilla erotic thriller PVT Chat arrives digitally this week (February 12).

Primarily as lead guitarist and vocalist of art punk band Bodega, PVT Chat marks as the third entry for Hozie as a feature-length filmmaker, Hozie‘s film is credited as “A romance about freedom, fantasy, death and friendship”. Starring Peter Vack, Buddy Duress, and Uncut Gems breakout star, Julia Fox, PVT Chat focuses on an internet gambler living in New York City who becomes fixated on a cam girl he meets online. His obsession reaches boiling point when fantasy materialises in reality and he believe he spots her on the streets of Manhattan.

Talking to Bradley of The People’s Movies, director Ben Hozie and lead actor Peter Vack both share how PVT Chat came to fruition, the films COVID apt themes, what it was like to work alongside Safdie Bros. alumni, as well as their inspirations for making the film.
