Phil Lord And Chris Miller Working On Spiderman Animated Feature

The cinematic road for everyone’s favourite webcrawler Spiderman has been a bumpy one but everything might be awesome as Sony announce Phil Lord and Chris Miller are to work on a animated feature!
The news was announced during Sony Pictures CinemaCon presentation that Lord and Miller will work on the feature which they will be producing. Spiderman maybe ready to make his Marvel Cinema Universe debut but despite the critical response to the recent films Sony aren’t going to let this prize possession sit and gather dust. It will be independent from Marvel films or appearances the character may make, so don’t expect any connections between the films.
It seems the idea for this feature has been around well before the 2018 Spectacular Spiderman was announced, with the success of Lego Movie this project is in the right hands to succeed. They have also been connected to direct that 2018 live action version so could this film be practice for the pair? They are a busy pair from 22 Jump Street to a possible film version of The Flash and possible involvement in future Lego Movie franchise movies.
But are we going into Spiderman overkill? A possible 2017 Drew Goddard feature which will take us back to a youthful Peter Parker and his High School days maybe in works too. It’s all talk at the moment so time will tell but animated feature maybe just be awesome! The Spectacular Spiderman is set for 20th July 2018 release date.
