Nic Cage To Star As Tiger King’s Joe Exotic In New Show?

He may star in endless duffers, but we do love Nicholas Cage. In his defence he does deliver some crackers and the odd ‘Cage Rage’ which would put a smile on anyone’s face. We do love to see what he does next and this news must be one of the nest casting news, to star as Joe Exotic!
Yes folks, your payers look like they are about to be answered as the actor is being lined up to play the Tiger King himself.
Variety are reporting Cage will star in an untitled 8 part scripted series. he new series is being developed by Dan Lagana and Paul Young. Lagana will be known as the writer behind American Vandal, for this series he’ll be the showrunner as well as writer and Executive producer. Cage will also come onboard as an executive producer with Brian Grazer’s Imagine Television as the shows main producer.
If your building your hopes that this series will be based around Tiger King Netflix series, You’ll be disappointed. This show will be based on the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild,” by Leif Reigstad.
“Joe Schreibvogel, a.k.a Joe Exotic, an eccentric, exotic zookeeper in Oklahoma who fights to keep his park even at the risk of losing his sanity. The series will live in the lion’s den with Joe, explore how he became Joe Exotic, and how he lost himself to a character of his own creation.”
This series will be the second scripted series that will be in the works. The other is set to star SNL’s Kate McKinnon and based around Joe’s Podcast. McKinnon is attached to play his nemesis, Carol Baskin.
The mind boggle and our mouths water at the prospect of Nicholas Cage playing this role. If it does become official , this will be Cage’s first Television role and no one better to take this role.
