We’ve been boasting about Thor: Ragnarok‘s new tone and direction since we watched the movie’s first trailer months ago. There’s no doubt it’s fun been the God Of Thunder and Marvel UK has sent us a spanking new Featurette that highlights the fun.
When Taika Watiti (Hunt For The Wilderpeople) was announced the third Thor movie director it raised quite a few eyebrows. Not in negativity but in curiosity, ambition, most of all in excitement. It stamped Marvel’s ambition to deliver something non-gritty, quirky, something that pays respect to the old masters of the comic books (i:e Jack Kirby). In this short video we do get glimpses of new footage but also hear Watiti say he wants the film to be ‘an adventure that keeps people laughing along the way’.Chris Hemsworth himself backed up that notion that and the differences delivered a different ball of energy to the movie too.
In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!
Thor: Ragnarok is set for 24th October UK&Irish Cinemas release and will star Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, and Anthony Hopkins.
