Sense8 Season 2

Sense8 Season 2

Are you like us missing Sense8? It seems we’re not alone and Netflix have answered our prayers with an early Christmas present…A Sense8 Christmas Special!!! Adopting the ‘British style’ of bringing out seasonal specials but this is no ordinary sci-fi drama, but one that’s surreal, sexy, refreshing most off all very different.

In this upcoming one-off special we return to our eight heroes,( strangers and sensates) as the bond of togetherness gets stronger in hard times. The journey continues as these eight singular hearts and minds weave in and out of each otherโ€™s lives finding deeper connections, learning darker, more desperate secrets about one another and struggling to identify with more than just oneself.

Netflix has sent us a trailer to support the upcoming one-off special has all the Christmas trimmings, Doona Bae ass-kicking and an ominous meeting…

Along with this trailer, we get a special message from Lana Wachowski who shares her thoughts on Christmas specials and what they mean to her. Check it out…

What the new trailer does showcase is Sense8’s new actor Toby Onwumere who replaces Aml Ameen who played Capheus our Jean-Claude Van Damme fan.Don’t expect to see many clues to what the special will be all about apart from it has shades of what made us love this show altogether. This 2-hour special you can say will play like an interlude to Season 2 which is set for an early Summer 2017 release.

Picking up where season one left off, Capheus (Toby Onwumere), Kala (Tina Desai), Lito (Miguel Angel Silvestre), Nomi (Jamie Clayton), Riley (Tuppence Middleton) , Sun (Donna Bae), Will (Brian J. Smith) and Wolfgang (Max Riemelt) come together both physically and mentally, plunged into the middle of each otherโ€™s tragedies and triumphs. On the run from Whispers (Terrence Mann), and forced to question their very identity, it’s a matter of survival as the Sensates must find a way to live with, understand and protect one another against all odds.

Sense8 Christmas Special will stream globally on Netflix (including UK&Ireland) on 23rd December 2016 and the long awaited Season 2 will launch a 10 episode run from Friday 5th May 2017.
