It’s nearly for some unrelenting ridiculously over the top madness fun as Fast & Furious 8 will be riding high into UK cinemas in April. Love or hate the franchise it’s one of the very few long-running franchise that’s built up a bigger following in its latter stages than early ones.
Today Universal Pictures have sent us a brand new moody poster which shows the family in the title of the movie (which is still called Fast & Furious 8 here in UK&Ireland) but as the slogan says ‘Family No More’. The head of the ‘family’ Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) is next to the movie’s villain played by Charlize Theron with the rest of family now joined by last movies baddie Jason Statham.Below the mood, we get a glimpse at a sample if the carnage we can expect and only this movie can deliver.
In Fast &Furious 8 ,Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.
From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.
Compared to previous movie promotions we have to say this has been a more subtle approach despite been teased with the same crazy stunts. The twist of Dom turning on the family does intrigue us and we’ll be curious to see how this progresses. Another new director, this time Straight Outta Compton‘s F Gary Gray, can he deliver?
