New Cast Added To John Wick Spin-off The Continental

Whilst we wait eagerly for the next John Wick film, over at Starzplay, the spin-off series The Continental, is taking shape fast. Today the streaming service has announced additional casting for the upcoming series an adaptation of the blockbuster Lionsgate film franchise ,
The new cast members joining the anticipated series will be Ray McKinnon has been cast as “Jenkins.” Katie McGrath has been cast as “The Adjudicator.” Adam Shapiro has been cast as ‘Lemmy.” Mark Musashi and Marina Mazepa have been cast as High Assassins “Hansel & Gretel.”
Previously announced cast included Colin Woodell as the series lead “Winston Scott,” the younger version of the iconic character from the John Wick film franchise, whose origin story is told through the event series. Hubert Point-Du Jour as “Miles,” Jessica Allain as “Lou,” Mishel Prada as “KD,” Nhung Kate as “Yen,” Mel Gibson as “Cormac,” Ben Robson as “Frankie,” Peter Greene as “Uncle Charlie,” Ayomide Adegun as “Charon” and Jeremy Bobb as “Mayhew.”
The Continental will explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, the centrepiece of the John Wick universe, through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.
The Continental is an adaptation of the blockbuster Lionsgate film franchise John Wick, written by Derek Kolstad. Executive Producers Greg Coolidge (Wayne, Ride Along) and Kirk Ward (The Turkey Bowl, Wayne) will write the event series and serve as showrunners.
Executive producer Albert Hughes (The Good Lord Bird, The Book of Eli) will direct “Night One” and “Night Three” while executive producing all three. Charlotte Brändström (The Lord of the Rings, The Witcher) will direct “Night Two.”
Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger will also serve as executive producers.
The John Wick film franchise has grossed more than $600 million at the global box office with each instalment nearly doubling the box office of the previous one. John Wick: Chapter Four is currently shooting in Germany, France and Japan.
The Continental is coming to Starzplay across its complete footprint in Europe, Latin America, and Japan. In the U.S the series will be released via Starz, launch date still to be confirmed.
