2016 was seen as the new hope for  video game movie curse would be broken.Warcraft tried and failed, however, today Assassin’s Creed new UK trailer has arrived with big ambitions , hope one-day gaming movies will deliver the promise. In the latest trailer,  Michael Fassbender jumps off more buildings, faces the Spanish Inquisition even more giving us a better idea of the overall story.
Decades on since the gaming industry attempted to transfer their spectacular video/computer games to the big screen, the fight continues to get the elusive movie. The movie to showcase the wait was worth it, even with advances in technology not just in movies but gaming no one has gotten close. Maybe Angry Birds to lesser extent though critically it’s still a failure.
Now Assassin’s Creed will kick-off 2017 cinematic calendar is it time to support Justin Kurzel‘s movie or wait in Scepticism?
Assassin’s Creed we meet Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) and estrange violent man on death row, who through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, he descended from 15th Century Assassins. Thanks to an device called Animus he experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguila who also a member of a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.A fight for humanity begins.
After Need For Speed fiasco including a lot of Breaking Bad fans who didn’t like Aaron Paul getting negative criticism right after the cult TV ended. I will probably always be sceptical towards gaming movie adaptations but I’m not alone here. Visually this looks fantastic and those jump scenes remind us of the visual linear of Kurzel’s MacBeth. Even with a lot of this movie going to be set in the present time we do see there’s enough on show for the gaming fans to be happy. Lynch with a female assassin called Lin the scenes are pretty violent and it lets us see Lynch rather than Assassin. Is this trailer the best indication we might be cracking open the champagne soon?
Assassin’s Creed will be released in UK&Ireland on 1st January 2017(USA 21st December). The film also stars Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson,Michael K. Williams and Ariane Labad.
