Never Surrender Until You Watch The Darkest Hour First Trailer

He was a figure of the British and Allies fight against the Nazis during World War Two. If you know the history ‘Never, Never, Never Surrender’ became one of iconic war cries, you will be able to hear soon in Darkest Hour.

As promised yesterday, Universal Pictures has released and sent us the first UK trailer for Joe Wright’s Winston Churchill’s biopic. A story that chronicles the early days of the British PM who took the nation through the last world war. Facing the question of upholding the treaty or stand up for your ideals and face your darkest days, check out the trailer…

He wasn’t their first choice, but he finally became their last hope Winston Churchill, not even the King trusted him nor his own backbenchers. The Darkest Hour hopes will show the dilemma he faced and what looks a fantastic performance from the highly recognisable Gary Oldman. Last month Brian Cox played Churchill during the last days of the war but will showing the man from his early days show a side of the prime minister deliver the better movie?

Joe Wright looks to be heading back into familiar territory showing the passion, the determination his inspiration that helps turn the war towards the Allies? The trailer does show those early hurdles moving slowly into the leader we know about. So are we looking at an Oscar for Oldman?

Within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill (BAFTA-Award® winner Gary Oldman) must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation.

As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent, and with an unprepared public, a sceptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history.

Darkest Hour is set for a 12th January 2018 UK and Irish release date, co-starring Kristen Scott Thomas, Lily James, Stephen Dillane, Ronald Pickup and Ben Mendelsohn.
