New cast members taking over the main story in Netflix Beef Season 2

Beef was one of Netflix‘s most successful recent series. The dark-comedy drama, led by Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, was absurdist, twisted and gleefully unrestricted, leading to critical acclaim, including 8 primetime Emmy wins, including best actor and actress for Yeun and Wong, along with Outstanding Limited Series and directing and writing nods. What was initially planned as a limited series was instead renewed for a second season by Netflix.

With Yeun and Wong’s characters’ narratives at an end, the show will change focus to a new group of characters, with their own personal beef. Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny will be the anthology series’ new leads, portraying two couples. Melton and Spaeny play a young couple, Austin and Ashley, who work at an elite country club and witness a fight between their boss, Josh, portrayed by Isaac, and his wife, Lindsay, played by Mulligan. Their beef will be the central conflict of the new season, as Josh and Isaac’s long-term marriage begins to crumble while fighting with Austin and Ashley for Chairwoman Park’s attention, whose influence could change the lives of both couples.

The star-studded lead cast is supported by Seoyeon Jang, William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover, and BM in an acting debut. Creator ofย Beef Lee Sung Jin returns as showrunner and executive producer, along with Yeun and Wong as executive producers. A24 are producing the series. Lee Sung Jin has described this season as โ€œmore passive-aggressiveโ€, focusing on the repression of rage typically seen in the workplace.

Along with the first look, Netflix also announced the release date for season 2: all 8 episodes will launch on 16th April. See below for some of the first-look images released by Netflix. You can catch up on Season 1 right now on Netflix.
