Capitalism is the name of the game, and they are determined to win. Behold Netflix release the official teaser Trailer for Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area!

South Korea seem to be making themselves at home on Netflix with the likes of Squid Game. Before that bonkers series was dominating the viewing figures, another favourite slick thriller Money Heist ruled the Streamer. So it’s no surprise we have a remake of that popular series not in a English language but Korean.

Once again in a ruthless world of inequality the rich are getting richer everyone else suffers all thanks to capitalism. North and South Korea have reunited in a economic union, a crew of thieves from both sides of the border, led by the Professor, who set out to pull off a history-making heist.

The basics from Money Heist will be there, from the teaser below you can notice there is also some differences. It’s logical this would happen to keep things fresh, distinctive and intriguing…Welcome to capitalism.

In this new retelling, there is a Joint Security Area โ€“ located where todayโ€™s North and South Korea are divided โ€“ which contains a mint that becomes the focus of the action. Amid reunification, the mint is printing a new unified currency as the groundwork to build a stable joint economy.

Led by an elusive criminal mastermind known only as โ€œThe Professor,โ€ this band of desperados has their eyes set on one simple goalโ€”to pull off the greatest heist in Korean history. If capitalism is the new name of the game, then itโ€™s a game theyโ€™re determined to win.

The series will star Yoo Ji-tae (Professor), Kim Yunjin (Seon Woojin), Park Hae-soo (Berlin), Jun Jong-seo (Tokyo), Lee Won-jong (Moscow), Park Myung-hoon (Cho Youngmin), Kim Sung-o (Cha Moohyuk), Kim Ji-hun (Denver), Jang Yoon-ju (Nairobi), Lee Joobeen (Yun Misun), Lee Hyun-woo (Rio), Kim Ji-hoon (Helsinki), Lee Kyu-ho (Oslo).

Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area Part One will be released on Netflix on 24th June. Part 2 will be released late 2022.
