Netflix Cancelling The OA After Two Seasons
When it comes to shows on Netflix, Three is the magic numberย as very few shows seem to get there. For fans of the shows on the streaming hasn’t been a great time. Now The OA is the latest casualty as it won’t be back for an third season.
The mind bending sci-drama came from Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. The pair also brought us The East and Sound Of My Voice, with The OA launching Back in December 2016.
The OA (or Original Angel) Season One, Marling starred as a Blind woman who had disappeared seven years previously. Only return with her full sight intact and no clue where she had been for that time. From here she would recruit a small team to rescue other missing people using a portal into another dimension.
The news broke this morning by Netflix Originals Vice President Cindy Holland….

The news left fans of the Show very angry as Season two left the show with one big major cliffhanger. Off course Netflix has now ended interest in the show and a potential mammoth new season.
We admit this show wasn’t for everyone, neither were many other shows.The two seasons get rake in an average 84% critical approval at Rotten Tomatoes. Netflix are not renowned for using viewer figures as a way to measure the shows popularity. They have however done it a few times in the past and it seems they have again for this show. The delay between season one and two possibly didn’t help much either, with Season two not arriving until March this year.
Could Netflix do what they did with Sense8? Commission a one off special?
