Natalie Portman Floats In Space In Lucy In The Sky First Trailer
Noah Hawley will always be known for his television work on Legion, Fargo. 2019 will be the year he will move from the small screen to the big one with his directorial feature debut Lucy In The Sky.
Today Fox Searchlight has released the debut UK trailer for the film which stars Natalie Portman. Originally called Pale Blue Dot, Portman plays Lucy Cola an NASA astronaut who goes into space. Thanks to a transcendent experience she has on the mission on her return to Earth she begins to lose grip of reality. She loses connection with her family as well as having an affair with an fellow astronaut.
It seems this film is partly based on the true events of Lisa Nowak. She was an astronaut who was arrested in 2007 for kidnapping a U.S. Air Force Captain who was romantically involed with the astronaut whom Lisa was involved with. How much more of that story it’s hard to tell at this stage. However it does look like Hawley wants to explore Lucy’s deteriorating psychological state.

The film also stars Jon Hamm, Dan Stevens, Zazie Beetz, Pearl Amanda Dickson, and Ellen Burstyn.
Lucy In The Sky doesn’t have a confirmed UK or Irish release date apart from ‘Coming Soon’.
