MUBI Announce Autumn Release Date For The Mastermind

Niche distributor and streaming service MUBI have revealed Kelly Reichardt‘s heist dramedy The Mastermind will be getting a Autumn UK and Irish cinema release.

The film stars Josh O’Connor (Challengers, La Chimera), and Alana Haim (Licorice Pizza).  The film made it’s world premiere

The Mastermind is a slow moving heist film set in 1970’s Massachusetts. An unemployed carpenter JB turns into a amateur art thief plans to step up for a big heist. However things unravel and go wrong.

A few weeks ago an official clip for the film was dropped online. It shows JB (O’Connor) in action at a museum, will he succeed?

In a sedate corner of Massachusetts circa 1970, JB Mooney (Josh O’Connor), an unemployed carpenter turned amateur art thief, plans his first big heist. When things go haywire, his life unravels.

The film lso stars John Magaro, Hope Davis, Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann, Amanda Plummer, Eli Gelb, Cole Doman, Javion Allen, Matthew Maher and Rhenzy Feliz.

The Mastermind will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 24th October. MUBI will be releasing the film in other territories around the world , at this stage we have no details.
