Matilda Lutz Wants To Fight In Red Sonja UK Trailer

A new trailer has arrived for the long-mooted remake of Red Sonja, which you can watch below!

The Earth is bleeding, and Matilda Lutz wants a fight as Signature Entertainment releases the film in the UK.  After years of Robert Rodriguez trying to remake the 1985 fantasy which Brigitte Nielsen starred as the titular character. 40 years on, MJ Bassett has done that, and next month we’ll be able to see that film.

Red Sonja came into existence in the 1970s as a Marvel Comics book, part of the Conan the Barbarian universe. Revenge star Lutz is our titular character, Sonja, enslaved by an evil tyrant. She unites with a group of like-minded warriors to defeat the tyrant.

The film also stars Wallis Day, Robert Sheehan, Michael Bisping, Martyn Ford, Eliza Matengu, Rhona Mitra, and Veronica Ferres.

Matilda Lutz is a badass barbarian on a mission in this action fantasy based on the best-selling comic series. Enslaved by an evil tyrant who wishes to destroy her people, barbarian huntress Red Sonja must unite a group of unlikely warriors to face off against Dragan The Magnificent and his deadly bride, Dark Annisia. Starring Matilda Lutz (Revenge), Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy), Michael Bisping (Den of Thieves), Wallis Day (Sheroes), Luca Pasqualino (Skins), Martyn Ford (Final Score), Rhona Mitra (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans) and Veronica Ferres (The Bricklayer), Red Sonja is written by Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin) and directed by MJ Bassett (Solomon Kane).

Red Sonja will be released in the UK and Ireland on Digital HD on 18th August, then on 8th September it will be released on Blu-ray and DVD. 

There will also be a couple of big screen previews, at Prince Charles London on August 14th and Forbidden Worlds Bristol, on August 16th.
