Mark Whalberg Does His ‘ex’ Thing In Trailer For Broken City

When it comes to Jason Statham films we know it will be a action thriller it seems now with Mark Whalberg films you expect he’ll be an ex somebody out for redemption, in Broken City guess what he’s ex Cop and here’s the official trailer. Whalberg plays Billy Target an ex cop thrown out the force after shooting a 16 year old several years but thanks to the mayor of new york (Russell Crowe) is kept out of jail. Billy becomes a private investigator and is given the task to look into the mayor’s wifes infidelity (Catherine Zeta Jones) he uncovers something more sinister.

It seems to be rare these days to see Russell Crowe not some historical warrior netherless in his everyday gear it looks pull off a solid performance as does Whalberg whose reliable too like Crowe but why does he seem to play cops in majority of his films? Overall  Broken City does look a decent film especially for the time of year of January which is regarded as a dead month in films  however this is a film directed by one half of the Hughes Brothers (In Hell, Book Of Eli) Allen in his solo directorial debut hopefully he can prove his worth.

Broken City arrives in UK&Ireland on 25TH January 2013 also starring Jeffrey Wright, Kyle Chandler, Ambyr Childers and Griffin Dunne.
