Mahershala Ali Is A ‘Devout Man’ In Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother UK Trailer

Last month Orion Pictures released the U.S Trailer for Ali in Bassam Tariq’s Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother. Tonight we get a look at the UK version and Mahershala Ali Is A ‘Devout Man’.

The action drama comes from British filmmaker Tariq who we last saw with Mogul Mowgli which starred Riz Ahmed. We move from British Pakistani rapper to a hitman who is devout to his faith. Tariq was due to make the now dead Blade film with Ali as the titular half human vampire warrior. The pair decided to make this and we can see our leading has a particular set of skills needing let loose!

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother follows Latif (Ali) a loving father, devout Muslim who is struggling to balance this with his job as an hitman. His life is turned upside down when his wife dies, Latif embarks on desperate journey to protect his children.

It’s great to see Mahershala Ali get a powerful leading role after many years as a supporting act. His looks at home with the action genre and the promo sells it well, and Bassam Tariq looks like he’s delivering.

The film also stars John Cho, Abubakr Ali, Laith Nakli, Tramell Tillman, Tiffany Boone, Giancarlo Esposito along with Adia, Jahleel Kamara.
Synopsis | From writer-director Bassam Tariq, Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother stars Mahershala Ali as Latif, a devoutly religious hitman who struggles to balance work, faith and fatherhood. When his wife dies, he embarks on a desperate journey across Houston to protect his children, confronting the forces closing in around him – and the beliefs threatening to unravel within.

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on 20th November. The film will make it’s world premiere at Toronto Film Festival on 12th September. The UK premiere was just announced this for BFI London Film Festival and that day will be 17th October.
