To many people you may not know who Lukas Haas is or you just cant remember his name but his face looks familar, well I’ll solve that one for you. He was the little Amish kid in Witness which starred Harrison Ford in 1985, since then he has done a mixture of tv appearances in 24, Criminal Minds with the ocassional known movies like Brick, Brother’s Bloom, Alpha Dog and Mars Attack.

Haas is also a childhood friend of Leonardo Di Caprio and Lukas will have a brief appearance in Inception when it comes out next month but having a friend like that can also help you get parts in other movies as well. Di Caprio’s company Apprian Way who are involved in the Akira live action project are also involved in Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke’s supernatural thriller The Girl With The Red Riding Hood.

I told you about the movie back in February which will see Amanda Seyfried play the lead role which she has now got, Lukas Haas will now join the cast as the village priest. He’ll join a cast which also includes Gary Oldman, Julie Christie, Shiloh Fernandez, Max Irons (son of Jeremy) and Michael Hogan.

The movie is a modern retelling of the classic little red riding hood fable by the Brother’s Grimm, which has a werewolf haunting a medival village, it look’s possibly the movie may target the twilight movie fan agae group which wont be a surprise as 90% of the movies film studio’s seem to aim for nowdays, and they wonder why movie fans over a certain age seem to rip apart what they dish out! If they follow the Brother’s Grimm ethics the movie will be dark, gritty and very edgy, we’ll find out soon enough as it’s in pre-production as it heads for it’s American 24 Aprill 2011 release date.
