The boxing ring is no place for the faint-hearted nor the emotionally broken. This March Vertigo Films hopes Jawbone hopes to bring a harder hitting edge to the down and out man boxer who has rock bottom. Only one way for him left, get out his old gloves and head back to the ring, check out the UK trailer…
A former youth boxing champion, Jimmy McCabe (Johnny Harris), is a man desperately in search of hope, but looking in all the wrong places. When he hits rock bottom he turns to his childhood boxing club and the only family he has left: gym owner Bill (Ray Winstone) cornerman Eddie (Michael Smiley) and promoter Joe (Ian McShane). In a battle between fear and faith, Jimmy risks his life, as he tries to stand tall and regain his place in the world.
Set to an original soundtrack by legendary songwriter Paul Weller, Jawbone is the screenwriting debut of Johnny Harris.
I have to admit I have no clue about boxing and what constitutes a good boxer, it sounds dumb. These guys are going for a real authentic feel with Boxing legend Barry McGuigan and his son Shane are  onboard as Boxing consultants. If that doesn’t whet your whistle, music icon Paul Weller provides the movie’s score.
Jawbone is set for 17th March UK&Irish cinema release, however, the movie will premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival on 25th February at Glasgow Film Theatre, with Johnny Harris in attendance.
