Like Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise, E.L James Fifty Shades Books are cash cows to their perspective owners. We can argue about were blue in the face about the quality of Fifty Shades Of Grey, however to millions, it was a guilty pleasure.

It’s nearly time to return to that world, dust the cobweb’s from those furry handcuffs as Fifty Shades Darker is upon us. To the untrained eye, Fifty Shades movies will look exactly the same and Universal Pictures want cinephiles know there is a difference. When a wounded Christian Grey tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.

Whatever you think of Fifty Shades of Grey and the follow-up books E.L James will be rolling, rolling, it makes you wonder if they ever care about the adaptation. It will never be fully accepted critically, loathed and loved. The book sales prove it has it’s fanbase and the first movie proved so popular and that brings the readies. James Foley (House Of Cards) is now directing will his vision open the franchise up or will it just be a movie for the hardcore fanbase?

All will be revealed on 10th February when Fifty Shades Darker arrives in UK, Irish and the U.S Cinemas. Starring Hugh Dancy, Eric Johnson, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford, Max Martini, Bella Heathcote with Kim Basinger and Marcia Gay Harden.
