Welcome to Episode 0013 of The Chronicle, the official film Podcast for The Peoples Movies. The Stath Versus The Shark in Meg 2: The Trench, gross out comedy Joy Ride and Arrow Video’s Film-Noir Collection Volume 3. A little later than normal!

First Jason Statham takes on the Megaldon shark in Meg 2: The Trench. โ The Megโ  was an unexpected 2018 hit for Warner Bros. with several of the cast returning for another action thriller. Ben Wheatley (Kill List, Rebecca, Sightseers) takes on the sequel, can he continue the so bad but so good feel of the first film?

Next up is the directorial debut for Crazy Rich Asians scriptwriter Adele Lim with gross out comedy Joy Ride. The film stars besties Audrey (Ashley Park) and Lolo (Sherry Cola), one an aspiring lawyer the other an penniless sex positive artist. Audrey is heading to China for a meeting invites Lolo who just happens to invite her K-Pop loving cousin Vanessa aka Deadeye (Sabrina Wu). In China Audrey crosses paths with old college friend Kate (Stephanie Hsu) now an actress, christian, former wildchild with an incriminating tattoo, cue the chaos!

Finally from Arrow Video is the third volume of their Film-Noir Collection contain 4 films from the 1940s and 1950s. From Calcutta, Ride The Pink Horse, Outside The Law, The Female Animal.
