A little later than expected, here’s a new episode of The Chronicle the podcast of The Peoples Movies. In this  Episode 016 our editor will review comedies Theater Camp, The Blackening and Survival thriller The Dive.

First we head into Summer Theatre Camp with comedy Theater Camp. This was one of Sundance favourites directed by Nick Liberman and Molly Gordon who starred next to Ben Platt, Jimmy Tatro and Amy Sedaris. When a rundown camp founder who has a seizure and falls into a coma, the remaing staff come together and attempt to keep things a float. This wants to be like the Mighty wind or even This Is Spinal Tap, can it?

The next review is all about survival, with indie survival thriller The Dive. When two sisters who love scuba diving to some the remote spots around the world. Within minutes of diving a freak rockslide traps on of the sisters and the other is racing against time to save the other.

Ride Along was not a great film, could director Tim Story make amend with horror comedy The Blackening? When a group of black friends set to reunite to celebrate in a remote cabin in the woods. When they find themselves target of a masked killer, what do they want? Can the all survive?
