It’s the weekend, it’s Sunday which means another episode for The Chronicle, the official Podcast for The Peoples Movies. For Episode 10 we have Evil Dead Rise, Golgo 13 and Birdbox Barcelona.

This week we have no big cinema releases as recently Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 was released earlier (Listen to Episode 9 for review | Read Calum Cooper’s review).

After a 10 year hiatus the Deadites return in the Home Entertainment release for Evil Dead Rise. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell produce with Irish filmmaker now directing. Bringing the evil and chaos from the forest to the city of Los Angeles. When a family in crisis find their world turned upside down when theย  evil takes over.

Next up is another home release with Golgo 13, the 1973 live adaptation of the cult manga of the same name. Ken Takakura plays the stoic assassin for hire in the first film version when he takes on aย  crime syndicate. The film released on Blu-ray and the first time outside Japanย  on any format, released part of Eureka Entertainment‘s Eureka Classics Range.

Finally we head over to Netflix and Spanish horror Birdbox Barcelona, the first spin-off from the popular 2019 Netflix original survival horror which starred Sandra Bullock. As a father and daughter try to survive you are left wondering who is truly the enemy here or is it angelic?
