A woman looks around in fear in Gentle Monster

It just takes one secret to destroy everything and in the full trailer for thriller Gentle Monster, Lea Seydoux‘s life is unravelling.

Marie Kreutzer (Corsage) directs this film which also stars Laurence Rupp, Jella Haase, and French screen legend Catherine Deneuve.

In Gentle Mother our leading actress plays Lucy a concert pianist whose life is shattered after a police raid. All she wants to do is protect her son, thanks to secrets hidden by her husband who is arrested for an unspeakable act.

The mind will wander when it comes to secret and when it involves someone close toy you it will break you. The film looks to highlight the impact of those secrets on your close ones, tense emotional stuff.

Synopsis | From director and writer Marie Kreutzer (Corsage, Austriaโ€™s entry for the 95th Academy Awards), Gentle Monster tells the story of concert pianist Lucy (Lรฉa Seydoux), who has just relocated her family to a country house hoping to ease her husband Philipโ€™s (Laurence Rupp) severe burnout. Before they have a chance to set up their new home, an early morning police visit tears their life apart. Trapped between the man she loves and the fear of what he may have done, Lucy must face the situation alone as her world unravels. With a cast that includes Jella Haase alongside the legendary, Academy Award nominee Catherine Deneuve, Gentle Monster asks what we do when someone we love turns out to be someone we never really knew.

Netflix will show Gentle Monster in select cinemas from 30th October, before heading to their streaming channel from 18th November.
