Let’s Party At The ‘Shithouse’ In Freshman Year UK Trailer!
When your at University if you don’t want to party every night, why you there?! College life is a whole new ball game for many, and if you want to experience a party make sure it’s one at ‘The Shithouse’! Vertigo Releasing have released the UK Trailer for Cooper Raiff’s indie feature debut Freshman Year!
The film made it’s world premiere at 2020 SXSW Festival winning the Grand Jury Prize. The film was released in the U.S in the Autumn 2020 under the name of S#!%house (aka ‘Shithouse‘), a name that might not go down well in some quarters in the UK, hence it’s more friendlier title.
Cooper not only directs he stars himself as Alex, a sensitive, emotional leading man struggling to adapt to a world of house parties and dorm life. That all changes when he attends a party at the legendary fraternity ‘The Shithouse, when he crosses paths with sophomore RA Maggie (Dylan Gelula).

Cooper Raiff’s funny, honest semi-autobiographical romantic comedy won the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s SXSW Film Festival. Cooper casts himself as a sensitive, emotional leading man struggling to adapt to a world of house parties and dorm life.
Lonely college freshman Alex has closed himself off from his peers, who all appear to have this whole “college thing” figured out. But everything changes one night when Alex takes a leap and attends a party at Shithouse – a legendary party fraternity – where he forges a strong connection with Maggie. The next day, she ignores him completely and seems to have forgotten about their amazing night. Desperately clinging to his social breakthrough, Alex pulls out all the stops with one more party, hoping to rekindle that moment of connection.
The film also stars Logan Miller, Amy Landecker, Olivia Welch, and Abby Quinn.
Freshman Year will be released in UK and Irish cinemas later in the Summer, ( the exact release date still to be announced).
