Kristen Stewart To Feature in Martyr's Remake? Twilight Producer wants her
ShareUnless your a Twilighter (or whatever they call there hardcore fans) you’ll probably couldn’t care less but Martyrs one of the most extreme horror movies is getting remade for hollywood (oh not another movie destroyed!)this was announced a few weeks back but producers of the upcoming movie want Kristen Stewart to appear in it!
What we didnt know a few weeks ago was that one of the producers of the upcoming movie been directed by John Hillcoat has one of the Twilight Saga producers Wyck Godfrey who’ll be onboard and over the weekend during a twilight: eclipse press junket with FEAR.net he has been quoted in saying he would love Stewart to play the movies lead role.
If you knowPascal Laugier he is the godfather of new wave French horror or some media call it Torture porn, probably the closest to a hollywood/mainstream English speaking movie is Hostel and tis movie extreme and got its critics but not as extreme as Martyrs. The movie received one of the highest ratings a movie can get in France so right away they’ll be no chance of the remake or as Godfrey said ‘they’re doing it for an American audience with an American cast’ .
So if the movie is to be remade Im sure only the basic foundations of the original 2 girls both kidnapped and abused when kids seek retribution going into a journey of hell & depravity will survive and to get that money to create a movie some critics called un-remakable the torture will have to be cut right down. So really all you can say is this movie will be inspired only by the original but im sure alot of you people in movie fanworld would love to see the crap been taking out on a Twilight star, even though it’ll only be acting.
The movie script has been written by The Hole and Vaccancy scribe Mark L. Smith and when the movie startd rolling expect a late 2012 or 2013 release date.
