Kiki’s Delivery Service 4K IMAX Cinema Release Coming In August

You’ve watched Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey on IMAX, now it’s time to enjoy a Studio Ghibli classic on the biggest screen. Kiki’s Delivery Service is returning to UK cinemas next month and Gkids have released a new Trailer, now remastered in 4K!

Earlier this month we learned that New York based GKids bought the UK and Irish rights to the legendary Japanese animation studio. Hayao Miyazaki‘s 1989 classic film will be the first of several Ghibli films getting a similar upgrade.

The animation is based on novel by Eiko Kadono, Kiki is a trainee witch who leaves her home to learn her craft. She befriends a local baker and sets up a delivery service delivering everything! With her cat by her side starting a new journey help her find her way in the world.

Rare to see a hand drawn animation on the big screen that every is done digitally. Love anime, do yourself a favour go see this!

Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989) Review

Synopsis | Young trainee witch, Kiki, leaves her family on the night of a full moon to find the perfect spot in a faraway city where she must live for a whole year by using her magical powers to learn her craft. She befriends a bakery owner and sets up a courier service, using her broomstick to deliver everything from pies to pets. At first with only her chatty black cat Jiji for company, she soon discovers that she has more friends than she ever thought possible.

Kiki’s Delivery Service is coming to IMAX® Screens in the UK and Ireland 21st August. The box office is opened now, with the film shown original Japanese language and Dubbed versions.
