Keanu Reeves Films (47 Ronin Feature)

A speeding bus, a time machine and a dystopian future represent just a selection of the obstacles Keanu Reeves ’ has battled with on the big screen. He’s played cops, samurai warriors and high school students so it’s fair to say that Reeves has had a diverse career culminating in some brilliant films. 47 Ronin saw the Canadian actor venture into the world of the samurai and to celebrate the release of the film coming to Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and DVD on May 12th we are taking a look at some of Keanu’s best roles.

Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure

1989 saw Reeves star as stupid spaced-out high school student, Ted Logan who, alongside his best friend, Bill, are on the verge of being kicked out of school due to their falling grades. The two of them desperately need to pass their history test and how do they plan on doing it? A time traveller called Rufus and his time machine, of course. They embark on a zany adventure through history meeting historical figures to ensure they ace their history exam.

Speed

Keanu stars alongside Sandra Bullock in this high octane, tense thriller as the two of them find themselves on the scariest bus journey they’ll ever take. A potentially fatal situation unfolds in which if the bus’ speedometer dips below 50 mph a planted bomb will explode. It’s time for Keanu Reeves to be the hero, save the passengers and negotiate the Los Angeles traffic before it’s too late. No pressure.

The Devil’s Advocate

That’s the case for Keanu Reeves in The Devil’s Advocate, portraying a hotshot lawyer who moves him and his wife to the biggest law firm in New York. Nevertheless, his wife doesn’t exactly settle in the city and eventually he comes to see why…

The Matrix

Undoubtedly, one of Keanu’s most iconic roles is that of Neo in the Wachowskis sibling’s sci-fi epic, The Matrix. Neo works in IT but not your everyday IT, he’s a computer hacker in a dystopian future where reality is simulated and created by machines. Complete with long black coat, Neo learns the truth about the machines and finds himself in the midst of a rebellion.

47 Ronin

Samurai culture has long intrigued many across the world and the story of 47 Ronin is often regarded as one of the most celebrated. Reeves’ is half-breed, Kai ,who is recruited by 47 masterless samurai requiring his help in order to avenge the death of their master. An epic fantasy tale of revenge, with shapeshifting witches and mythical beasts, 47 Ronin is an exhilarating adventure with incredible special effects.
