Justice Unveiled In The First The Equalizer Trailer
Justice is coming and today Justice comes in the shape of the first trailer for The Equalizer as Denzel Washington kicks off his one man war on crime.
Antoine Fuqua brings a whole new take on the cult 1980’s TV Crime drama with Washington now in the shoes of Robert McCall an ex-black ops agent attempts to do redemption for his past sins. Working quietly in the background Robert is drawn out of retirement when he attempts to rescue a young prostitute Terri (Chloe Grace Moretz) who is kidnapped by the Russian Mafia. But with the adds stacked against McCall the situation triggers his appetite for Justice and those nowhere to turn to.
When it comes to collaborations in action thrillers Denzel Washington is usually a safe bet on who he works with Antoine Fuqua has worked with Washington (Training Day) before and they have delivered. The Equalizer looks potentially will follow that path gone is Robert Woodward style type of justice in place we have a no holds barred Robert McCall who isn’t scared to unleash the pain on those who confront him. This looks gritty plenty of throwback moments but how much more of the film will actually pay homage to the original TV Series we don’t know at this stage but we’re looking forward to September!
The Equalizer will bring Justice to a UK&Irish cinema near you on 26th September with Melissa Leo, Martin Csokas and Robert Whalberg.
Synopsis
Starring Denzel Washington, it tells the story of a former black ops commando who faked his death and is now living a quiet life and returns to action to rescue a prostitute from evil pimps; his actions cause the Russian mob to send rogue CIA agents to kill him; he battles back against overwhelming odds, defeating them and becoming “The Equalizer.”
