Joseph Gordon Levitt’s Premium Rush Gets A UK Trailer
Last Friday we got our first look at Joseph Gordon Levitt’s stylish high octaine new thriller Premium Rush and today Sony Pictures UK the past hour have sent us the UK trailer! Joseph’s been a busy busy boy since last summer filming this movie which saw him suffer 31 stitches whilst shooting an action scene, there was also a small matter of playing a man fighting cancer (50/50), futuristic mob killer in Looper, appearing in The Dark Knight Rises (a character unknown but possibly a superhero/villian) and now he’s playing the son of Abraham Lincon in Steven Spielberg’s Lincon, dedication folks! So what’s different with between the American and British trailers? The length is the biggest difference, The American version stands in at 2 mins 21 seconds whilst the UK one nearly 1 minute less at 1minute 33 seconds, there is some tidbits of new footage but its basically a condensed version. You can understand when a movie is released by 2 different film studios the trailers be different but when its the same studio usually the trailer is either the same or a few seconds shorter.
Premium Rush also stars Jamie Chung, Michael Shannon (whose in as many movies now as Levitt!), Dania Ramirez a story about Wilee a courier bike rider in New York City who takes on a delivery he wishes he never and becomes a ride for his life. David Koepp writes and directs Premium Rush which has got a mixed reaction from the critics but its early days as this movie is one of the movies to look forward to early 2012 when it arrives in UK&Ireland on February 3rd (USA January 13th).
Dodging speeding cars, crazed cabbies, open doors, and eight million cranky pedestrians is all in a day’s work for Wilee (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), the best of New York’s agile and aggressive bicycle messengers. It takes a special breed to ride the fixie – super lightweight, single-gear bikes with no brakes and riders who are equal part skilled cyclists and suicidal nutcases who risk becoming a smear on the pavement every time they head into traffic.
But a guy who’s used to putting his life on the line is about to get more than even he is used to when a routine delivery turns into a life or death chase through the streets of Manhattan. When Wilee picks up his last envelope of the day on a premium rush run, he discovers this package is different. This time, someone is actually trying to kill him.
