Jeremy Allen White is ‘The Boss’ In Deliver Me from Nowhere First Look

First look at Bruce Springsteen Biopic starring The Bear lead actor

Jeremy Allen White is Bruce Springsteen

20th Century Studios have announced that production is underway on Deliver Me from Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen. We also get a first look at the actor as the iconic musician in a new image.

The eagerly anticipated movie adaptation of Warren Zanesโ€™ fascinating telling of the making of Bruce Springsteenโ€™s 1982 Nebraska album. The film is slated for cinemas in 2025, with the film written and directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Hostiles, Antlers, Black Mass).

Bruce Springsteen is one the most recognized South Jersey natives. His mark in his local area can still be felt years after his step into music world. Filming for Deliver Me from Nowhere will take place primarily in locations in New Jersey and New York, with additional production in Los Angeles.

The development ofย  Nebraska, which followed Springsteenโ€™s 1981 The River Tour, marked a pivotal time in his life, one that he would only openly talk about decades after its release. Itโ€™s regarded as a landmark in his musical odyssey and a source of inspiration for a generation of artists and musicians. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteenโ€™s New Jersey bedroom and without The E Street Band, Nebraska is considered one of Springsteenโ€™s most enduring worksโ€”a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.

Also starring in this one will be Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice, Succession) as Springsteenโ€™s long-time mentor and manager, Jon Landau. Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird, Richard Jewell) portrays guitar tech Mike Batlan. Odessa Young (Mothering Sunday) is young Faye, a formative love interest in Springsteenโ€™s life. Sir Stephen Graham (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) plays Springsteenโ€™s father. Johnny Cannizzaro (Jersey Boys) joins the cast as The E Street Band member Stevie Van Zandt.

โ€œBeginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey,โ€ said Scott Cooper. โ€œBruce Springsteenโ€™s โ€˜Nebraskaโ€™ has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The albumโ€™s raw, unvarnished portrayal of lifeโ€™s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanesโ€™ compelling narrative of Bruceโ€™s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honouring Bruceโ€™s legacy in a transformative cinematic experience. It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with Bruce and Jon [Landau] as I tell their story, and their creative energy fuels every part of this journey. As well, Iโ€™m excited to reunite with my friend, David Greenbaum [president, Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios], as he embarks on his new role at Disney, adding another layer of inspiration to this project.โ€

No exact date announced for Deliver Me from Nowhere cinema release, apart from 20th Century Studios plan to release sometime in 2025.
