We waited forever for the announcement of Sam Caflin as Finnick Odair and if you thought that was the end of the big casting announcements think again as Lionsgate films have just officially announced Jeffrey Wright is the latest name to join the sequel The Hunger Games:Catching Fire.

Without going into too much detailsย  with out treading into spoiler territory Wright will play the role of Beetee not named after British Telecom (sorry bad editor joke) but the District 3 electronic expert who also has a nickname of ‘Volts’. This was a role that Tony Shalhoub (Monk) was also connected too at one point though fantastic as the OCD conscious detective Wright does look the stronger better actor. Though he will be a supportive role Beetee will have quite a few scenes with another new character Wireless played by Amanda Plummer.

Jeffrey Wright joins Sam Caflin (Finnick Odair), Stephanie Leigh Schund (Cashmere), Maria Howell (Seeder), E Roger Mitchell (Chaff),Bruno Gunn (Brutus), Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Plutarch Heavensbee) , Amanda Plummer (Wireless) and Jena Malone (Johanna Mason) , Lynn Cohen (Mags), Meta Golding (Enobaria) and Alan Ritchson (Gloss) as the newbies to what is now looking a very impressive cast built by new director Francis Lawrence.
