Its a great time to be Javier Bardem, married to the sexy Penelope Cruz, your in contention for a Oscar in your latest movie Biutiful, possibly a lead role in Ron Howard’s ambitious take on Dark Tower and now looks like he is  to star in James Bond movie 23!

Deadline are reporting that MGM producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are looking to snapping up the Spanish actor to play the second lead male role. There’s no confirmation yet what part Bardem may play but you can assume he maybe playing the villian in the Bond movie though he could also play one of the many ‘other’ agents that help Bond out once in a while whatever way we’re up for the Spainard doing his bit in the world of esponaige!

If all things go to plan  the christmas build up for 2012 is going to be a might feast for movie fans of franchises with James Bond 23 been set for a November 9, 2012 with Zack Snyder’s Superman and The Hobbit part one been scheduled for a release a few weeks later in December.

Not much is known about the story for the film but what is known the movie picks up from the events that ended in Qautumn of Solace (like that did with Casino Royale) based on a script by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade , John Logan and at this stage Sam Mendes is still been connected to direct. Last week Dame Judi Dench confirmed she will be back as M, as for Daniel Craig back as James Bond nothing is concrete he will be back possibly him playing 007 could be down to the sucess of Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo been sucess which would mean movies 2 & 3 could be made.

Nothing on James Bond 23 is 100% confirmed apart from the movie is finally going to be made along with Dench coming back, as for Senor Bardem playing a part in the movie fingers cross he will however he has turned down big parts in the past. He has recently became a father so possibly fatherhood may come the winner here!
