‘It IS War’ In Trailer For Conclave Starring Ralph Fiennes

This autumn the grand conspiracy of the church will be revealed in Edward Berger‘s Conclave. Tonight Black Bear unveil the UK Trailer and it IS war!

German filmmaker Berger will be known for his Oscar nominated Netflix film All Quiet On The Western Front. This film marks his English language debut based around Robert Harris novel of the same name.

In Conclave, the Pope is dead and the Catholic church is choosing a new Pope. Ralph Fiennes is Cardinal Lawrence who is in charge after the Pope’s unexpected death as the church’s most powerful leaders gather. Pushing him into the centre of the most secretive, ancient events and in the middle of a conspiracy that could shake the church.

We are surrounded by secrecy and conspiracy despite many calling society a modern society . Not just in religion, long running powerful business companies and Royal families. If you ever wanted The Game Of Thrones in a realistic setting, Conclave might be the closest to it, intriguing stuff.

From director Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front) CONCLAVE follows one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events – selecting a new Pope. Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope. Once the Catholic Church’s most powerful leaders have gathered from around the world and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence finds himself at the centre of a conspiracy and discovers a secret that could shake the very foundation of The Church.

Conclave will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from Black Bear on 29th November. The film also stars Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Lucian Msamati, Brían F. O’Byrne, Carlos Diehz, Merab Ninidze, Thomas Loibl with Sergio Castellitto and Isabella Rossellini.
