Interview: Annie Mumolo on being the good neighbour in Confess, Fletch

Known for her Oscar nominated Bridesmaids screenplay, Annie Mumolo is back in front of the camera this week for another comedy, playing her complete opposite.

In Confess, Fletch, she plays the neighbour of the Fletch of the title (Jon Hamm) who keeps an eye on his apartment. But she’s more than a little eccentric and accident prone,  setting things on fire and cutting herself with a kitchen knife. Mumolo, on the other hand, describes herself as “very under control at all times” – although there was one occasion when she set her own kitchen on fire. Thankfully, her character, Eve, doesn’t get too embroiled in the film’s plot which centres on a collection of stolen paintings and Fletch being accused of murder.

In the interview below, she also talks about the complications of shooting her main scene with Hamm and her reaction to seeing herself on screen when the movie was released in America.

Confess, Fletch is released on Friday, 18 November |  Read our review of the film.
