Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Emile Hirsch Star In Art World Based Thriller
Andy Warhol in his time caused much controversary. In Alessio Della Valle‘s American Night, he’s once again the centre of attention as a crook attempts to go legit in New York’s corrupt contemporary art world.
The is the Italian filmmaker’s feature directorial debut after 20 years making short films. The film stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the one time crook who wants to turn legit art dealer with Emile Hirsh as mobster boss in his way.
American Night is neo-noir set in New York City’s corrupt contemporary art world. After the theft of Warhol’s ‘Marilyn’, a series of unexpected events turns an art dealer’s life upside down as he fights with the ruthless head of the New York Mafia, Michael Rubino, for money, art and power.

Art and life collide in this stylish and wildly entertaining neo-noir thriller. When a highly coveted Andy Warhol painting suddenly surfaces, it triggers a chain reaction of danger-filled events for a colorful group of characters including: a forger turned art dealer (Jonathan Rhys Meyers); a mobster and painter (Emile Hirsch) with a penchant for scorpions; a seductive museum conservator (Paz Vega); and a stuntman and wannabe ninja (Jeremy Piven). Filled with daring double-crosses and surprising twists and turns, the race for the painting comes to an explosive conclusion… one American Night.
The film also stars Jeremy Piven, Michael Madsen, Paz Vega and Anastacia. American Night will be released by TMP in the UK and Ireland on all Digital Platforms from 7th February 2022.
